The Volvo FL chassis can be configured for a variety of superstructures. Robust and rigid, the square, flat design makes for easy bodybuilding – regardless if you choose electric or diesel power.
As soon as you order your Volvo FL, the bodybuilder can log into Volvo Bodybuilder Instructions right away. Using the exact specifications and 3D drawings on the system, work can begin even before the truck has left the factory. So delivery is faster, and more cost-efficient, too.
You can of course order your Volvo FL chassis with a standard layout. But if you really want to make it easy for the bodybuilder you can order it with the preparation kit or even completely adapted to fit your specific needs.
The chassis can be specially adapted for specific applications like cranes. Then, components like fuel and AdBlue tanks are repositioned in order to optimise the chassis.
All front axles are maintenance-free and available in four different versions with a maximum load capacity from 4.5 to 7.1 tonnes.
Electric or diesel? Regardless, you have several options for energy storage. Electric trucks with 3 to 6 battery packs holding 200–395 kWh. Diesel-powered trucks with tanks made of plasti, steel or aluminium holding 80 to 430 litres of fuel.
Three different rear axles are available in various combinations. The load capacity range stretches from 8.5 to 11.5 tonnes.
There are two frame section heights of 220 mm and 244 mm with a frame thickness of 5, 6, 7 or 8 mm available depending on model.
Poor roads or off road? No problem. The Volvo FL 4x4 is just as agile and easy to drive as the 4x2 version. But with better traction and more ground clearance. Combine it with the automatic 8-speed transmission and you’ll get a relaxed driving experience in any conditions.
